Just a few short months ago, my family and I received an incredible job opportunity that required us to move from Denver, CO, to California. We were all so excited about the new opportunity and decided to take the plunge and make the move.
What To Do? Where To Start?
I was unsure how to get all of my household goods to California. I have never made a relocation like this before, and there seemed to be so many options out there. I researched and found that there were two main ways to relocate your belongings: by self-move or by a moving company. I wasn’t certain as to which option would be best for me, but I eventually decided to go with a moving company.
Why Not A Self Move?
I was initially going to make a self-move, but I decided to go with a moving company because of the following reasons:
I didn’t want to have to manage the hassle of packing and unpacking.
When I was moving, I read a lot of horror stories about people who had packed too many boxes and ended up damaging their belongings. This made me scared to pack too many boxes by myself, so I knew that I would need assistance.
I am so relieved that I plumped to hire a moving company because they helped me pack everything perfectly without any damage. They were quite cautious with my belongings, and I was really impressed by their professionalism.
I didn’t want to damage my furniture or possessions.
I have a lot of heavy and bulky furniture that I was worried about moving safely. I have a two-piece china cabinet, a five sectional sofa, and a selection of arcade cabinets. I really enjoy having these pieces in my home.
The china cabinet is great because it allows me to display my china attractively and functionally. The sectional sofa is also great because it provides plenty of seating for my friends and family. And the arcade cabinets are a lot of fun to play with.
These items are all quite heavy and difficult to move. I knew I would never trust myself to move them safely myself- I could easily hurt myself if I tried to do it wrong. That’s why I was so glad when I decided to use a moving company.
I didn’t have nearly enough time to do it myself.
I was in a hurry to move out of my house, but I knew that I wouldn’t have time to rent a truck and do all the loading myself. I was in a time-sensitive situation where I needed to move quickly.
Still, I also suffer from anxiety which I really didn’t want to compound, so I took the step of allowing professionals to handle my entire move. This was the best choice for me, as it allowed me to focus on other things and not worry about the logistics of the move.
The Initial Phone Call
The first time I called Denver Moving Group to get a quote, the sales coordinator was so courteous and understanding. Despite my anxiety about the moving process, she took the time to walk me through each step and answer my questions.
She even gave me a quote that was within my budget! I wanted to ensure that the moving quote I was being offered was accurate since I did not wish for my long-distance move to be another horror story.
The Free In-Home Inspection
I was really impressed with the moving coordinator’s offer to send a representative over to my home to carry out a free inspection of the house. It was a great gesture, and it showed that they were really committed to providing top-notch service.
The representative was very thorough, and they took the time to point out all of the potential pitfalls that could arise during the move. This gave me a lot of peace of mind, and I knew that I could trust them to handle my move.
Full Pack Service
I explained that I do not have time to pack anything before my move date. The representative offered a full-pack service that would take care of everything for me. The representative explained that a full pack service is a service that provides a customer with all the packing materials they need in order to move.
This can include packing boxes, supplies, and transportation for the customer’s belongings. Full pack services are convenient for customers because they don’t have to worry about purchasing materials or hiring a truck.
They can also be helpful for customers who are moving a long distance and don’t want to pack their belongings themselves…like me!
I was thrilled with the representative who came to my house. He was very friendly and helpful, and he stayed for about an hour before going back to the office.
I received the moving estimate later that day, and it was exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I was delighted with the entire experience.
Binding Not To Exceed
The estimate says that the price is not allowed to go over a certain amount. This is called a “binding not to exceed” quote, and it means that Denver Moving Group has agreed to do the work for that price. It’s like a guarantee, so it’s such a popular choice for people like me who are opposed to problems on the moving day!
Booked!
I was so impressed with the astute professionalism of Denver Moving Group and their in-home estimator that I decided to book with them.
The booking process for Denver Moving Group was straightforward. I simply went through some details over the phone and provided a $100 deposit to reserve my moving date. The deposit is fully refundable if I need to cancel my move, which is excellent.
Rescheduling
When I first signed up for the relocation, I was told that if for any reason I needed to change my move date, I could simply call my coordinator, and he would reschedule the move free of charge.
I was reassured by my coordinator that if for any reason I needed to change my move date, I could contact my coordinator, and everything would be sorted out without any extra fees.
As it turned out, I needed to change my move date due to a family emergency. I contacted my coordinator, and he was more than happy to help me out, free of charge. It was really nice to know that I could count on the program’s coordinators for help if I needed it.
Canceling
Even though I had no intentions of canceling my moving plans with Denver Moving Group, my coordinator assured me that I could cancel and that my deposit would be refunded. She was accommodating and understanding and made the process very easy.
The Moving Day
The movers arrived early and on time and went straight to work. They had all the packing material with them and got to work quickly. They were very efficient, and I was impressed with how quickly they could get the job done.
Moving Pads and Blankets
The movers wrapped up and padded all of my furniture. They made sure that everything was well-protected before loading it into the truck. They were very careful and meticulous in their work. I was very impressed with all their professionalism and attention to detail.
Packing Services
They also came with all the packing material they needed to box up my worldly goods. Wardrobe boxes, dish-pack boxes, and all sizes of moving boxes. It was really amazing that they had thought of everything. They made the process so much easier for me.
Disassembly and Reassembly
The movers were extremely professional and efficient in assembling my bedframes for me. They blanketed and taped all the pieces together so that they would be safe during transport. I was thoroughly satisfied with their level of professional service.
The movers promised to take apart my furniture and to reassemble it at the destination. This was a great relief, as I didn’t have the time or energy to do it myself. They were very efficient in their work, and, on the delivery date, everything was reassembled exactly as it had been before.
Loading and Unloading
The movers were very careful as they loaded all of my things. They were gentle with every single thing I had. I really appreciate that.
I also felt like the pricing was very fair. I wasn’t expecting to get such a good deal, but it was great that I wasn’t overpaying for something I didn’t need. Overall, I’m very happy with my experience on the move date.
Waiting
I was unsure how long it takes moving companies to deliver clients’ shipments. I contacted Denver Moving Group, and they assured me that I could expect my items between 7 to 14 business days.
There are a few reasons why it can take up to two weeks for a moving company to deliver a shipment. For one, the company may have many orders to fulfill and may not have the human resources to do so quickly.
Also, many moving companies only operate during certain times of the year, so there may be a limited amount of time during which your shipment can be delivered. Finally, the company may need to coordinate with other companies in order to get clients’ shipments to their final destination.
Delivery Day
The movers arrived at the door on time and did a great job moving my furniture into my new house. They were careful with my furniture and got the job done quickly.
I was really impressed with how the movers reassembled all of my bed frames and moved each box into its respective room in my new house. I was stressed out about getting everything moved, but they made it so much easier.
I recently paid the final installment for my move and received an invoice for my records. The total cost of the move was not expensive, and I was happy to have been able to complete the payment in full. The moving company was professional and efficient, and I would definitely recommend them to others!
