When I was 22 years old, I decided it was time to move out of my parent’s house and live on my own for the first time. It was a new experience for me, but I was excited to start my own life.

I did not have to face the prospect of moving away from home for the first time by myself. One of my closest friends had been considering moving out as well, so I was able to move in with her and split the costs. My friend and I found an apartment about 15 miles across town. This would make it difficult for me to try and transport all my stuff there by myself. The apartment is lovely, but it’s not feasible for me to move everything by myself.

They walked me through the whole moving process and what to expect and gave some tips on making my move go more smoothly. After getting my quote, which was much lower than I expected, I decided to use their services. I had paid a deposit to reserve the move date, and that was all that was needed until the point of delivery when the balance would be due. I was glad to have everything taken care of ahead of time and not have to worry about it on the day of the move.
How Local Move Estimates Work
The estimate I received said that the cost of the move would be structured on a per-hour basis. This is how local moves are usually priced. I’m not sure if there are other pricing methods for local moves, but this is the most common one. Basically, you will only pay for the amount of time the local movers take to move your items and nothing more, even if you were quoted for more hours than used. I found this flexibility quite refreshing since I knew I didn’t have that many things to move.
Moving Day With DMG
On the big day of the move, the movers turned up on time and got right to work. The guys were all wearing branded clothing and seemed to know what they were doing. This was in stark contrast to the day laborers I’ve seen hired for other moves. These laborers often seem unorganized and lack any sense of teamwork.
They were very careful handling all of my stuff, including the sewing machine, and wrapped everything up nicely. The process took approximately three hours, which was great since I expected it to take longer. Ultimately, I only ended up paying for the three hours of service and nothing more.
